What is the best types of equip for the large and small jobs.
Also, anyone had a look or built the "PA Sandblaster Design" from plans out of NH, (offered on EBay and other sites)? |

most important thing in sandblasting is your compressor !!! BIG AIR !!!
www.tptools.com they have excellent blast cabinets and supplies they also have kits for you to build your own i've also got a pressurized blaster for large stuff// if using a blaster like that it's important to have protective clothing and an excellent respirator as blasting with sand is quite hazardous to your lungs and bare skin

I agree^^^ The compressor is the most important item. I have the 960 blast cabinet and an 80 gallon 7.5hp compressor. while blasting the compressor will cycle on and off about 40% on and 60% off. It has a flow rating of 29cfm@175psi. I couldn't imagine anything smaller. It would never shut off.

I have a 220v 5hp 60gal compressor--runs alot when blasting or running my DA sander but have not had any perssure or supply problems. Another important item is a water seperator on the air line. Wet sand or soda will clump up and clog the blaster very quickly. |

I like a two stage compressor. My cabnet and sand blaster run best with 100 psi continous. They by far use the most air, simply because you will have the gun on sometimes for several minutes without a break.Theres nothing like trying to blast with out enough air to power well. A good compressor is a good foundation to a good working shop
