Exteria 67-72 door handles

I know most of you stay with the orginal stock 68-72 door handles or remove them completely, and go electric. I was just wondering if anyone has ever thought of useing a diffrent exteria door handle. Or even converted yours over to a later model. Some time ago I remember I read in a truck mag. That a guy used the exteria door handles off of a mazda miata. Seem like it was a easy conversion. Have you changed yours out ? If so how was it ?

Saw someone use PT Cruiser handles which are roughly similar to the truck handles but a little sexier. I think I saw it in a magazine and was an easy swap.

was considering go to older model corvette handles that push down but decided it would be too much work. Might do it later in life though

in some magazine a while back, there was a red sierra, 99-02, and they took the last model corvette handels and molded them in. i guess the contours were right. that's the only thing i would worry about, linkages can be modified.
