Coolant level

I installed an overflow tank, which is working well because I am no longer replacing any lost coolant. However, it seems strange that the bottle is always low and the radiator is full all the way to the cap. Should it be this way or maybe I need a new cap?

if you top off the overflow and it keeps getting lower .. over and over again .. you have a leak somewhere ....ie hose or your leaking into a combustion chamber and burning it off

With a sealed system (which you now have), the radiator should always be full, and the overflow tank should remain constant. That is, same level when cold (about 1/3 full), and same when hot (up to 3/4 full).

BTW, you'll need a radiator cap designed for a sealed system. Your old one won't draw the coolant from the tank back to the radiator as it cools.
