Fender decal/pinstripe source? '86 Subrbn
Where can a fender decal for an '86 suburban be purchased?
Two tone paint, separated by the stripe. |

I couldn't find a source when I had mine painted 3 years ago. GM doesn't make them anymore. Paint suppliers have some striping that you could find a close color match...maybe. I ended up using boat striping used on Boston Whalers. It's a 3/4" dark blue strip with a 1/8" pinstripe under it with a 1/8" space inbetween. It actually looks much nicer than original. My '86 is 2-tone blue. Good luck.

Thank you
However I gave up and over the past three days I painted the stripe on the fender. I wasn't easy but it looks almost perfect. From 10 ft you can't tell. The base stripe was brown and the pinstripes over the top are tan. Also the stripe tapers to the front and the pinstripes also taper. And the whole thing is forms a curve! Using careful measurements it is very possible to succesfully do it!
