how low do you think this truck is?
im looking to lower my truck this low, how low do you think it is? and what would be the best way to do so? |

im gonna guess 4/6 its really only that low cuz the tires are tiny and on 15's my .2$

I agree, it looks like a generic 4/6 drop to me too.
Use spindles and springs in the front and a dropped coil in the rear. Early Classic has top of the line kits to do it, and they are complete with no hassle or guesswork. That's what I always use.

A set of shock relocators and an adjustable track bar or super track bar are recomended, but a frame notch isn't needed.
Call the Early Classic guys, they'll steer you straight.

My truck sits at 4/6 and I like it. I liked it better when I "C" the frame. You only have 4" between the frame and the rubber stops and bottom out alot. Now it rides smooth. Plus I did relocate the pan bar and shocks mounts with new ones. Saves a lot of heads down the road.

TX - when you do a drop (ECE 4/6) do you remove the rubber snubbers completely, or just cut them down?

I remove them completely. Never had one bottom out afterward. You can see undisturbed dirt on the axle and frame rails where the two have never met.
ECE has their springs scienced out real nice.

I didn't buy my springs from Early Classic. I brought them from a lowering shop up here in Portland but that was 10 years ago. The springs are probably a lot different now. I didn't bottom out that much but if you didn't watch out for the pot holes once in a while or rough roads you did. Now my pan bar and shock mounts I bought from Early Classic about a year ago. Made a big difference. The 'C' section I bought from a vendor on the internet and was easy to put in if you have a cut off wheel on a grinder. It was a bolt on item. I have had my truck for about 18 years now and I am still working on it. I have one piece windows that I bought 6 months ago and still haven't put them in yet. Trying to make up my mind to go electric or crank.

These guys have them but you have to call for price. Their truck was featured in Classic Trucks. I bought their 6 lug conversion for disc brakes. I would have liked the 5 lug but money is tight and I had already bought wheels and tires for the 6 lug and would have meant selling and looseing money that I just put out. |
