Newbie/Stupid question!

How do I tell what gear ratio a front differential is? I have an old one laying around I want to sell, but wanted to know what ratio it is so I can post it.

It came out of a 89 or 90 z71

Count how many times the pinion spins to how many times the axle spins.The ratios are spread enough that you can guess accurately:a little more than 4 turns=4.10.a litttle less than 4 turns=3.73...
