Question About Tow Hooks?
I've been looking at the front frame horns of my 71/72 K20 and do not see where factory tow hooks would bolt on. Were the trucks that had this option drilled at the dealer or factory for the two holes that would allow the hook to bolt on?? MAybe somebody can show a pic of the 71/72 front location please?
Thanks, 72longbed |

That a good Thread, but I still don't recognize a bolt pattern on my frame that will accomodate the 69-72 style hooks. Looks to be just the hole for the bumper bracket and the rivets that hold on the front spring shackle?
Any 69-72 style pics out there? Thanks, 72longbed |

The picture in post reply #22 has the holes in question, the 69-72 uses
the same top hole, but the bottom hole is the one just behind the hook in that picture, hole that is empty in the pic for a lack of better word

My truck does not have any factory holes in that area either. I'm hoping to find a factory one in person before a drill my holes to make a template to make sure they are in the right place.

When I installed my original 69-72 style hooks there were no bolt holes in the frame for the mounting. I placed them in the general area and found the fit that looked "right" which wasn't to hard as there was not much room to maneuver them around. If not correct dimensions they are so close as to not matter as my truck does not have them listed on the glove box.
