Anyone use Headman Elite Hedders
I need to replace a leaking header, leaks where the tubes go into the collector. Does any one use the Headman Elite Headers or have any feedback on them. I am looking at ordering the Headmans from O'Reiley's Auto Parts. They quoted 163.52 for the Elite Hedders, Jeg's wants 265.99 for the same set.

Yep have them on my 72 with a BBC - am very pleased with them and have no complaints. Check to see what model they are wanting to sell you for that great price as Headman makes a comp.model that does not have the ball socket mount for the exh.pipes - if you dont mind the gasket on the collector then they are a steal at that price.:::::::CB

The Elites have the heavy flange plate and heavier wall tubes. Also some kinda thermal coat. 260 or there abouts for all prices \\\I've seen. That other price has got to be for standard hedman.

cst70rocket said it right, O'Reiley's quated a low price, called them back asked to verify the part number, the price jumped to 340.43, making Jeg's the low price. I looked at thier web site, they have to many choices which has raised another question. O'Reily said to use thier model number 69890, which will fit angle plug heads. I have a GM tradesman crate motor, 73 to 85 year range according to GM. When they fit angle plug heads will they also fit reular heads.

I got a set once and the coating was already chipped in shipping. I got them from Summit and sent them back. I ended up with the Hooker Super Comp 1 3/4", you cant find a nicer header.

Re: Anyone use Headman Elite Hedders
I installed a set of the Hedman Elite Hedders this afternoon. I have actually had them for a couple of weeks, but deer season took priority over my truck. These headers are larger than the cheap ones I had on. This led to problems due to my small block is mounted in the I6 postion. I have a brake line to move and the auto shift linkage will have to be rebent and adjusted for the change in shape, and I am haveing trouble getting NO. 5 plug in. I let my son talk me into the I6 position when we installed the new crate motor. That was my first mistake with this truck but I am sure it will not be the only one.
