55-59 roller wheel bearings, up grade brakes?

I have a 58 panel that i am trying to get road worthy. I paid way to much for the rust and i am trying to get it road worthy on the cheap. Does anybody know the bearing #'s to convert the front hubs to a tapered roller bearings? Plus I want the truck to stop straight and well.
Is there an upgrade for the front and rear brakes (drum) better shoe material, bigger wheel cylinders etc?
I am doing an install of a firewall mounted Power booster off of a 72 C-10 and have both a disc/drum and a drum/drum master cylinder.
I have seen pretty inexpensive bracket kits that use camaro rotors and calipers but I don't have any nice 5x4 3/4 wheels.
Is there a cheap but safe way to install 5 or 6 lug 5X5 rotors and a caliper bracket that would work on my 58 spindles?
Any ideas or help would be appreciated...........
Thanks,
Steve
