Disaster in my driveway
I can't believe this happened! My wife was backing out of the garage into the driveway and hit my truck with her new toyota solara! The truck was way over to the side to give her plenty of room. Her rear view mirror is damaged. My truck has a dent in the door and the front fender. I was able to get the black paint off the truck with a buffer and some 3M final finesse. I don't even know how I feel.

Tell her to back in from now on.I think it`s safest.You`ve been driving and are in the groove.Then,when it`s time to head out,you`re good to go.In the morning,your windows can be fogged or frosted,too.Sorry about yer luck.

dont know how you feel? well i would be bummed, but im doubting shes feeling very good about it either. stuff happens. to me it all boils down to they are just vehicles and thank goodness it wasnt one of those deals where someone got hurt.

I feel your pain man.. My g/f did the same thing a few years ago.. She felt bad enough for the both of us.. I took it in stride, and didn't make a fuss over it. I did however nickname her "Crash" for a couple days

I barely remember it, but when I was 3 or 4, my dad side-swiped our brand spanking new Aerostar van while plowing out the driveway. To this day, he will say "there was too much snow on the toolbox, I couldn't see backing up". He had an 87 F-250 then, so it was for the better for both of the cars
Sorry to hear about your truck. Can you pot the dents out, or are they worse than that? If you could pull out the dents, it would be better than a new fender and door!!!!! |

Geez, years ago I backed my wifes car into the garage and then when she went to drive out, cut the corner too hard and scraped up the side and pulled the bumper cover off. It was totally my fault for backing the car in.

I got one for you! My wife left for work one morning pissed off at me (surprise, surprise) and barely missed my truck but plowed into a new enclosed trailer I had hooked to my truck!
Her car left the yard on a rollback! NO ****! I told her it took talent to need a rollback for a driveway crash!

That's exactly why my wife has her own insurance policy on her own car and pays that herself. I'm tired of free loading women. Did your spouse offer to pay for the damage?

Thanks for the comfort Guys. My wife is not going to pay for it. She feels bad about it but not that bad. (She reminded me of the time I backed into her new Cougar with my company truck). I told her I couldn't see that itty bitty car parked behind my big ole truck. Surely she could see my big ole truck parked off to the side of the driveway. I don't think the Cougar thing should count. Oh well, its only paint.

Looking back on it now, it was kinda funny! She called me on the cell phone screaming for me to get out there. I had just laid down for a nap. When she said she was stuck in the driveway and she hit my truck I jumped out of bed and raced to the garage. Her mirror was dug into my truck and she didn't know what to do. She couldn't get out of the car!
 I started a monumental stream of cursewords and yelling that would put anyone to shame. (that didn't help anything) I just told her to cut the wheel hard to the right and pull foward raking down the door and fender again. I still hate that it happened but if any of my neighbors saw it they probably laughed their butts off. This month will be our 25 wedding anniversary and I wouldn't trade her for anybody.

Hey Mudder, I already did that! I backed my 25' travel trailer up too far and hit my flag pole and overhead garage door header.
Ya know? The more I think about this, the more I think I just have too much stuff to hit. Oh well, in 9 more days I'll tow the trailer out to hunt camp and spend 8 days out there hunting. The dent won't keep the truck from towing that trailer.

Not gonna involve anyone in this to extend the pain. after 25 years this is just little stuff. Hey! I'm going hunting for 9 days soon and just finished 4 days of hunting with muzzle loaders. Our wedding anniversary falls during the 9 day hunt and I don't catch any stuff for it. She is solid gold but she screwed up big time when she hit my truck. It helps a lot to talk to you guys about it though. THANKS
