Dearching leafs

I have a 72 C10 with a leaf rearend. If I dearch the springs, do I have to change the location of the shackle or hanger? What about the shock mount? Also what is the most I can dearch a spring?

I'd stay away from de-arching your springs. That ranks right up there with heating coils to make them sag. Not the best way to do things. I'd buy a drop shackle/hanger kit, or buy drop leaves. Check with Early Classic, Classic Performance, or Mcgaughy's.

Re: Dearching leafs

There are no drop shackle/hanger kits for 67-72 trucks.

You can get drop hangers, flip kits, dearched springs or mono leafs.

Dearched are the best bang for your buck and the best choice in my opinion.
