72 Chevy radiator.
I have a 3-row radiator now. One of the tank seams is leaking bad. I also have a fairly new 4-row from my 77 Suburban. The sub radiator is about 2 1/2" taller than my 72 rad. Does anyone know what the height of a 72 4-row is? Did GM make them taller in 77? Thanks for any help.

My replacement 4-row is the same as my oem 3-row... 18 3/4"

Re: 72 Chevy radiator.
Some of the 73 - 87's fit... I'm not sure what calls for the taller ones, I had one from an 87 3/4 ton burb...no good. Too tall. However, I had grabbed one out of an 82 1/2 ton p/u...and it fit like a glove. However, i did need to have the lower outlet removed and my old one that was angled up brazed on.

Re: 72 Chevy radiator.
On my beater, I used one of the taller 73-87 radiators. I had to modify my upper brackets, but that's it.
I simply cut and welded a spacer in to make them taller off of the core support. They look factory once you're done.

Re: 72 Chevy radiator.
Or you can get a new one for $150 from the radiator doctors.

Re: 72 Chevy radiator.
I used that one because I had it laying around and I didn't want to spend any extra money. I'm starting on my 30x40 shop next week, so I don't have any to spare.

Re: 72 Chevy radiator.
Thanks Tx!! Your brackets are simple, yet nice. I am gonna do that. My 4-row rad is almost new, so I am gonna put it to good use.
Keep us posted on your new shop.
