Need Help With Converting to Bucket Seats
I'm relatively new to the site- and I must say what a great help it has been to me. I'm installing some stock buckets in my 72 C-30 and I was wondering about mounting bolt locations. I've placed an original console in the exact center and working from that point have found that the front bolt hole closest to the door on the passenger lines up but on the driver's side I need to drill all new holes. Has anyone else found the same. I thought I read in the past that most of the holes were used again. Just wanted to check before drilling holes.

It's a catastrophic success.

Re: Need Help With Converting to Bucket Seats
If you are using "original" then it should look like this and the bolt hole will line up with the old holes.
If you are fabbing in a set out of something, mock it up,sit in it, get a feel where you like it, mark the holes. Get you some plate around 2"x2"x1/4" or bigger, drill a hole in it, use it for a backing under the cab floor so the bolt wont pull through if you get in a wreck. |

Re: Need Help With Converting to Bucket Seats
Hey Chris,
I did the same thing to my 71. Both seats need to be moved out from the original holes, not just the passenger side or else you will break the console eventually. I got the original bucket seat brackets that have threaded holes from a 72 blazer. The front bracket mounts to the underside of the cab, is about 4' long and has the correct hole spacings. You end up with about an inch between either seat and the console. Jeff
