Re: totally stainless?

I've done a truck and my Camaro with their fastener kits. Everything about them is outstanding. Good fasteners, and even better service.

Re: totally stainless?

Depends on the application....

Check out the web page for Totally Stainless above, he explains what is acceptable and what isn't. They have specialty fasteners that will work in place of Grade 8, but they are pricey.

it is fasteners for the "body" part of the truck only like to bolt inner and outter fenders together and to put the bed back together. etc.

they can accurately answer any questions you may have. the female i talked to was very informed. i was very impressed with her.

Re: totally stainless?

Excellent company. Have bought from them for several years. Good prices great service and very informed employees. They have the best prices on ARP fasteners I've found anywhere.

ARP bolts have comparable tensile strength to grade 8 bolts. This has been discussed many, many times before but there are only a couple of applications on these trucks that may actually need grade 8 bolts.

Re: totally stainless?

well i've read the FAQ before which is great for general information but i guess what i'm looking for is more info on the kits and what is included. i'll call them tommarrow to get complete lists of what is included in each kit and as a bonus i'll even post it =)
thanks,

My entire truck, except suspension, is from Totally Stainless, could not
be happier with their products, they pack everything labeled also.

Re: totally stainless?

the kits from them vary. you can get a kit to do every nut, bolt, and washer for the front clip or a kit just to do your doors. i bought one to replace every body bolt and screw on my truck. it's been awhile since i did this but when they say a complete kit they mean it. it even had stainless screws for all the stuff in the cab. they all came together in a pretty good sized box. and each set of fasteners were in a seperatly labled bag.

Re: totally stainless?

I'll be using their hardware when I finish my truck, I don't know if you can buy direct at the manufacturing location or is only mail order, as I drive by there when I visit my sister, is a good thing to be local.

btw last couple of times I drove by there there was a lowered 71-72 longbed in primer in their parking lot, maybe guinea pig?

I dont think that you will find stainless steel up to the hardness of a Grade 8 bolt. The process for aneiling(sp) stainless, I have no idea, but so far stainless for me is on my cars/trucks for non-torque demand areas but will work!

Re: totally stainless?

Buy direct from Totally Stainless.
Great people and a great product.

Get some anti-seize now.
You will need it for all those fasteners.
