ROAD TRIP.... Kalamazoo ....must be my lucky day

Wow...must be my lucky day. Had a good day at work, wife cashed my check and spent NOTHING, and I checked all the boards I frequent, and some one in Kalamazoo mi is offering me a Caddy 500 w/TH400 for free...just need to go get it.
I never been to Michigan...one more shot glass for the collection.
This solve a couple problems...and only causes one off the top of my head...Now I need a TH400 yolk. 5 bucks in any yard oughta get me one huh?
The 500 has rods hanging out of it...no amount of spray paint will fix that, ( 68 sub!!) But it will probably have a carb, a starter, the proper alt instead of that huge Pontiac one...A Verter that will bolt on, a tranny that will hold up. There's no telling how long that million mile Th350 woulda held up.
Yup, my lucky day. dad just showed up with beer and Mountian Dew.
I am smiling.

As well you should be smiling! Are you sure that blue paint won't fix the rods? Congrats on the score, can't think of anyone that deserves it more! Well, outside of me....

Have fun in Michigan, at least it might be cooler up there.

Well...I dunno about that... but I'm sure as heck not going to turn it down.
As for the weather..except for the rain and 4 hr power outage last night...it's been awsome here.

Good deal on the 500 caddy, can't beat free stuff! I love road trips, you get to see lots of new scenery, and get a chance to smoke some rice burners on the open highway .

That's no prolem on the open road. That GMC is an animal over 60. (500 lift cam and 3.07 gears don't mix very well)

Actully, it is within my payload limits, and only comercial vehicles need to stop...except comercial rentals, they don't have to stop. I ain't too worried about the temperature, as long as my A/C works (windows roll down) I'll be ok.
I just wonder if there's enough room for the needed amount of Mtn Dew in the cab for that kind of trip?
