New Addition

Well here you go folks. I getting like many others around here. Another one followed me home.

My new primary project 1969 C10 Short Fleet. 350 (unknown origin), turbo 350 tranny, power brake, power steering, headers, nice dual exhaust, and the crappy paint job. It looks OK when clean, but it is really a 15 footer. Everything is pretty solid body wise on it. Little surface rust on the driver's rocker. Corners and all are real solid. Front clip is not totally aligned right. Little tight on the passenger side, but that will be fix. As will the cut coils to lower it. For now alot of the plans and parts from the 70 step are going into my driving project.

Thanks to Dean for pointing it out to me, and especially thankful to Jacob (Krazy_Texan) who helped me bring her home. We started driving it, but the tranny line (we think) had a small leak, so we towed it the last 110 miles.

Andy & Luv, that liitle $100 towbar works like a dream. Thing towed that you hardly knew it was there and with the 4 wheel disk brakes on the Dodge you didn't even notice it there during the braking action.

Anyways, heres a few shots. She is dirty, but that will change. Time for a big parts sell, which you'll see in the parts area later this week.

OK George, I have my short fleet. The world is good!!! I wonder if I need a new board name now?

Re: New Addition

Yes TNBlazerK5, that is the way she was...plus a few spare OEM parts. And not Andy's towbar, just one I bought like it last year after his recommendation and all he did with his. I love it. It may make a trip to Texas this weekend for Krazy_Texan to tow his 67 back here.
Oh yeah, I picked it up for 2500. Not a deal of the lifetime, but good still.

Re: New Addition

Bill,
Glad to see that my old truck has a fine and deserving home now. The fella I sold it to had intensions of fixing her up, but almost a year later you see that never happened. I wish I would have been able to hang on to her but new house only had a two car garage. The plan is for a new four car garage to begin construction in January.

Congrats!

Dean

PS: Give me a few days to put the '71 back together and I will update the photo under my profile. I have been needing to for a while since I sold the Harley truck that is in that photo.

No it came from western MS, about 150 miles from the coast. It paid off. had to drop off my sister-in-law at my mother-in-laws, so it was a good excuse give the wife to go look at it (and pick it up) today.

Ummmm...That was part of the deal with the wife. I keep what I need for this one, and move out whatever I can. She didn't want two project trucks here. But....you never know as time goes on

Engine feels (and sounds) really strong. We didn't push it too much because of the tranny leaking. Trust me, we all will know once those leaks are fixed.

sweeeeet. That is a good lookin rig. Once you go black....

Tow bars rock. Use it on one trip, and it pays it's self off, and they are WAY easier to store and register than a trailer. Plus ppl are afraid of them so they never ask to borrow them.

Hey bill, if you need somewhere to stash the truck you know where to go. Just turn by the graveyard and look for my big white mailbox.

But,that`s not a project truck. That`s a driver.Haven`t you explained how we break them down into categories?Better take her out to dinner and explain it,she`d enjoy that,I`m sure?
BTW,you got that thing right in my book.It would go for more`n`at around here.

Glad to see you got that black one home!! (Too bad about that DODGE in front of it!.... Look up Dodge in the dictionary: It says "To Avoid')
