Re: Which serpentine conversion kit?

Well, I tried that last week, but with no sucess. The salvage yards here in the DFW area are pretty much gutted.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I got a full set-up off ebay for 175, including alt., ps pump, belt, a/c comp. May be worth checking.

I have one that I just took from a 92. Everything you need. There is a thread for it in 88-98 parts board.

It lets you run a late model a/c comp for available parts, and the late model alt. are higher amps for more accy's and stuff. One belt instead of 3 just carry one spare...More that one reason... And it looks cool too..

Re: Which serpentine conversion kit?

Hey cableguy, thanks alot on that,. I just got off of ebay and found a set up with every thing. Came off a 99 vortec engine. I saw others but lot of heavy brackets. The vortec looks pretty compact. Didn't even think about the fan. Just bought a new fan shroud too. May go with electric fan and clean it up really good.

Re: Which serpentine conversion kit?

That would be great to see a picture. I will watch for it. That would be killer to get a set up like that. I am always tightening up my Alternator and I am just tired of dead battries, you know.
