Need some help deciding on a carb.
I know, I know, the holley v. edelbrock debate will go on and on BUT I just need two people to agree to push me one way or another. I am putting this on my 350 goodwrench. Nothing special on it except lighter advance springs on the dist, performer intake and headers. My q-jet is crap and I need something that will run well in high altitute. So... I need some advice.

i should also add... is it worth it to upgrade to the avenger or evs... i'm not driving the truck very often but I don't want it to run like crap when i do.

personally i recommend the 600cfm edelbrock myself. wish i could have found a CARTER AFB myself but the eldelbrock is basically the same carb and i got a new one.

1406 edelbrock 600 its easier to change jets just real good carb

I just swapped out two of mine from the old quad. to a 600cfm as the other members have mentioned and I am very happy including the improvements in gas mileage.

Slow69, a little advice. I have the exact same engine. I run a Holley 570 Street Avenger. It runs ten times better than the Edelbrock 600 I had before. If you don't want to run a Holley, I STRONGLY suggest buying the 500 Edelbrock. I ran a 500 on a stock 350 I had in another truck and the throttle response was great. The good gas mileage was even better. It got about 16 or 17. A Holley 500 2-bbl would be just as good.
I'm not trying to start a debate. I'm only speaking from experience. The 600 is too much on a stock 350. I would only run a 600 with a cam and heads.

Holleys are sweet carbs with a ton of tuneability, but Edelbrocks are great set and forget carbs. I have a Edelbrock on my truck for mileage.

If you can wait a week & choose an Edelbrock, I have an Edelbrock 1806 carb that is about 1-1 1/2 years old. It is 650 CFM, electric choke, and Adjustable Valve Secondaries (AVS). I live in Queen Creek.
