Noise from motor on radio
Finally sprung for a new radio for my '69 chev truck. Got a Custom Sound that fits in the dash very nicely. Problem I am having is motor noise when the motor is running. Changed the ground, insulated the fender washers next to the dash, rerouted the power lines. Uninstalled and hooked up radio on floor of cab, still get motor noise. Methinks the antennae might be the culprit but don't know what to do about it. Can anyone give me some hints. Radio I replaced didn't have the problem, but it didn't really fit the dash either.

Still got point ing. If so is there a condersor on the side of your coil.( it is there to filter out ing. noise (inside cap on HEI). Every which one you have is bad.

You can also go to any hi-fi stereo shop and they will have an external inline filter pretty cheap.

resistor plugs or shielded core spark plug wires could stop it too- but the easiest is the 10 dollar inline noise filter from walmart for the stereo.

Thanks to all, going to find an in line filter somewhere and give that a try. I forgot to mention I just installed new resistor plugs, but the noise was still there.

It was a long time ago that I fixed this problem but I remember it had something to do with multiple grounds coming from the stereo deck itself if you do some searching online you should find the solution. I even
did the whole noise filter thing and it didn't do jack. It was something like removing the braided strap from the deck or keeping that one and not using the black ground wire if that makes any sense. search under car stereo noise and multiple grounds or redundant grounds or something like that.
