Flex-a-lite Part# 31147-Adj. Temp Sensor
Turns fan on/off at the desired temperature. Dial-adjustable 180-240F. Gives the freedom to set one temperature for occasional high-demand use, then reset for highway or day-to-day driving. This is the one I use, works great!! |

Re: electric fan temp switch?
Case, you might try Old Air Products. They have (2) sensors that come on at different temperatures and screw directly into a coolant port. They are out of FT Worth right off of 35W, that may be an option if you happen to be around that area.

Re: electric fan temp switch?
i thought i read somewhere you could use a temp sensor from an 80 something firebird that screwed into the manifold. I am getting ready to do this in the next few days as well

Re: electric fan temp switch?
Dang...I cant find my catalog or I would give you a part number but they are 3/8" NPT temp switchs that screw into either a intake manifold port or head port, just like where you would put a temperature sensor for a gauge. When the engine reaches a certain temp it complete the circuit, when the temperature lower to a certain temp it opens up and shuts the fans down. There are (2) versions; one comes on at like 185 and shuts down at like 170 the other one is a higher temp. Give Old Air a call they are easy to deal with and I believe the sensor is about 22.50.

Re: electric fan temp switch?
Painless makes a sending unit that screws in the intake or head. Summit & Jegs sells them. The part number for the 185*/170* is PRF-30111 . I use it and it works good. The ground wire from the relay runs through it.
