Well, I finally got my house and yard to the point where I can focus on getting my 67 Chevy nosed 71 GMC finished. I bought a bed from DJRacer, which I plan to get the sides straightened and use. I bought a good set of doors and a 67 chevy frame. I was going to re-use mine, but decided I could do more before disabling my truck if I got another frame. Below are some pix of the frame, I took everything off I don't plan on using, mocked in the new crossmember from ECE, and started wedding up all the un-needed holes in the frame. I am planning on boxing the rails and running ART a-arms along with air suspension.

So, far I have been using a 4.5" grinder with a wire wheel, it is coming really clean. I will see what I get when I am done. If needed, I will have it blasted. I think I might use silver por-15 because you can sand it and make the frame smooth, then I plan on painting over it.

bruddah..you got 1 too many trucks there. I'll take the one with the LT1 in it. lol. BTW, how did the engine turn out? I'm on the 4 year plan on mine. Just got done taking out the A.I.R. pump. What did you do with the EGR stuff?

Looks like you have a LS1 hooked to the engine hoist in one of those shots. Whats that plans for it? BTW looking good.

The LT1 runs great. Have had a few growing pains with the truck, but none have been from the engine. I got block-off plates from Street and Performance. www.hotrodlane.cc

The LS1 is going in the truck with no bed. It has a long way to go. So far, I have all rust free cab, doors, and front sheet metal. I have a set of '04 GTO buckets seats in it (not mounted yet) and the dash cut out. The dash had a huge hole cut in the center and I am planning on doing a fiberglass dash/console in it.

Made some more progress this weekend. Got the frame notches in and once I notch the new crossmember for the driveshaft, I will get it welded in.

I am planning on running the seats without the headrests. I am hoping I can just replace the one piece of leather which will get rid of the headrest mount holes and the GTO embroidery.

how far from true are the bolt holes? Those look very similar to the set of seats that Foose put in the yellow '47 GMC or whatever on Overhaulin'

The rear mounts on the seats are vertical, so I will have to fab some new mounts. I will have to look at it again for the front mounts, I don't remember. I am pretty sure that Foose uses Sparco seats, which look similar but are a lot more expensive and not 8-way power.

why no head rests? if you get rear ended your head could break the rear window. but those seats are nice. how much did they run you and were did you get them?
