Transfer Case Swap Questions.

I have a`90 Blazer with a 4spd manual/NP241 combo.Would I be able to swap in a t-case from an`86 Blazer that had the 700r4/NP203?Was it a 203 in`86?I`m selling the`90 and I really want to keep the NP241/RH for a mate to a NV4500 I have. That`ll be going in a`72 with the 4spd/NP205 and I`d consider swapping that combo into the`90 or just use the 205 if that`s doeable.I can get the`86 combo and would like to have the 700r4,don`t care about the t-case.Any suggestions?

86' Blazer would have a 208'.They ran 203's from 71'-79' and never behind a 700r4. It would be easiest to swap the 465/205 in since it already has a stick. You will also need different driveshafts.

Re: Transfer Case Swap Questions.

Thanks,I couldn`t remember which came first with the 203 & 208.I`ve newer had much use for either. So,I couldn`t bolt the 208 to the manual in the`90?This Blazer needs a clutch and it`s going as is(local/not on the board).I could sell it with the trans/t-case installed.

Re: Transfer Case Swap Questions.

I hadn't thought of that. Yes you could just swap the 208 onto the 90'465.Should bolt right up because they both have the round pattern.

Re: Transfer Case Swap Questions.

Thanks, that`s what I wanna hear.Do you know a good place to look for a NV4500 case?I have one from a wreck w/15,000 miles and a broken corner at the front mounting surface. The piece is long gone.I have the 241/RH,same miles, frome the same truck.I`d get a Ford axle, but I have two sets of D60/14-bolts already.
