Wink Headlight Question

I have a 65 GMC swb. My problem is if I have my high beams on, all of the lights work (well thats not the problem) but when I hit the dimmer switch only the passenger side light works, any idea what to do?

Re: Headlight Question

The gmc's have dual headlights right? two lamps on each side ? a hi lamp/low lamp on each side ?

reads like yer driver side low beam bulb/lamp is toast...

does the driver side low lamp light at all ?

Re: Headlight Question

No, the driver side is not low at all, but if I turn on the high beams, all four headlights light up.

Re: Headlight Question

Did you try a new lamp, or switch the left and right lows around? Also check the connectors in the socket, they can break.

Re: Headlight Question

on in this thread on chevytalk, they are discussing headlights and things as well... I thought of your thread here and thought this might be something for you to check.

See if the rubber plug that is on the radiator support is the culprit. I had only low beams. When I switched to high beams had no lights. Thought it was the dimmer switch, but it turned out to be a somewhat corroded connection inside that rubber conector. Wiggled it and abracadabra.

Re: Headlight Question

First, "CHANGE THE HEADLIGHT!", the low beam CAN burn out and the high beam WILL still work. if that dose not get you light, then you need to go here~~~>HeadLight Trouble Shooting, this is the 6066 GMC Guy site so it will help you out eh.
