H4 Conversion Lights for 81-87
Does anyone know of a source for H4 conversion headlights for the 81-87 trucks that use the four small headlights? All I can find are round and large rectangular.

Re: H4 Conversion Lights for 81-87
I dunno if you have them down there, but there is a store called PartSource up here that carries Hella H4 quad headlight conversion kits in both round and square lights.
If you do buy a set, make sure that you buy the type with the European lense on them. I've got a set of Bosch H4 round headlights on my 77 (only 2 headlights) and dang, I'm impressed! They came with 65/55 watt drivers in them, upgraded to PIAA 85/65 watt drivers and installed relays + heavier wiring for the headlights, and holy cow does my truck ever light the road up! However, with the European lenses, they distribute the low beam light in such a way that my bright lights don't irritate other drivers. I have yet to be high beamed with them installed!

Russell,
Is PartSource a chain auto parts store? Any idea what the conversion kit costs? |

Re: H4 Conversion Lights for 81-87
Its a chain store, the Bosch kit for my round headlights set me back 89.99 cnd + a 7% sales tax. I imagine the quad headlight kit would be more expensive, even more so if you go with Hella instead of Bosch like I did. I found the Bosch H4 kit at Canadian Tire, which is a Canadian version of Pep Boyz on crack
That came with the two conversion lenses, and two drivers, they plugged into the stock wiring plugs =) The PIAA drivers would normally cost about 120 cnd, but my father's work was kind enough to pay for part of them. BP Canada are safety / health freaks. They'll help pay for certain upgrades to your vehicle (headlights, winter tires and cracked windsheild replacements for the most part) and will also pay 65% of a gym membership! You can find information about the relay upgrade on www.73-87.com

Re: H4 Conversion Lights for 81-87
I found a guy on Ebay that has the conversion lights w/glass lens, Europen E code rating for the neighborhood of $80 for all four lights. Supposed to be similar quality to Bosch or Hella. Does that sound about right?

Yep, sounds right to me!
PIAA drivers for your application are cheaper too
