New tires
I need a new set of tires. I have a '69 Chevy Dually. I've never owned a dually before, anything special about these wheels? The guy I bought it from said something about them being a two piece wheel? Can someplace like Sears replace them or do I need to go someplace else?
thanks don |

Re: New tires
I actually have the exact same question. My '68 dually is up for tires as well. The tire size on them currently is 7.5 16's. I'm finding these pretty hard to find. Don, is that the size you currently have on your dually?

Re: New tires
you have a split bead rim acorroding to the po no sears can not install tires on a split bead rim split bead tires also have tubes in them you have to find a tire shop that has a cage because it is illeagel to inflant spit bead rims unless they are in a cage because the bead can pop off. at camp we had a truck like this and we installed 265-75-16 on it. post pictures of the front of the rim taht you see and i'll be able to tell you if you have spit bead rims

Re: New tires
I own a Ford dually and a good size tire is 215/85R-16. Those tires are tall so
you can go freeway speeds and are also narrow enough to allow ample room between the two tires in dually mode. If you do have split rims any tire shop that works on large trucks is set up to do the job.

Re: New tires
What ever you do, be careful with them split rims, they can get somebody hurt without a cage.
