Paint Amount ?
Will 1 gallon of enamel paint, using a H.V.L.P. spray gun, be enough to paint my 70 LWB? I am not going to be painting the inside of the bed, or the inside of the cab. I will be painting the door jams though. Just trying to get my material all together before the big day. I want to make sure I have enough paint on hand. Someone told me that 1 gallon would be enough.

Re: Paint Amount ?
A GALLON OF UNMIXED PAINT SHOULD BE PLENTY TO PAINT A LONG BED & JAMS. BY THE TIME YOU MIX IN THE HARDENER & REDUCER YOU'LL HAVE ABOUT A GALLON & A HALF. YOU WOULD PROBABLY HAVE ENOUGH TO PAINT THE INTERIOR TOO. SOME OF THE CHEAPER PAINTS (LIKE OMNI) ARE SUPER THIN TO BEGIN WITH, BUT FOR GOOD PAINT LIKE PPG.. A GALLON IS PLENTY. JOHN

Re: Paint Amount ?
So far, I’ve used ½ gallon of Nason brand yellow single stage with a binks 69 on the inside of the cab. That includes the jams, inside doors, around the window frames and pillar post and under the cowl. My primer is dark gray and doesn’t cover easily. It’s going to take me at least two gallons to finish doing the bottom of the hood and inside the fenders and bed.

Re: Paint Amount ?
I used 3 gallons of torch red to do the whole truck. Thats inside the box under hood inside cab inner fenders grill.
A gallon and a half should be good just to do the outside of the truck.
