Spacer size to run w/disc brak conversion.

Hi guys,

For those that have changed from drum to disc brakes, what size wheel spacer do I use to run the stock rims and clear the brake caliper? I got the Mcgaughy drop spindle disc brake kit.

tia,
Jay

I have this type of rim:

I know 4X4 wheels will clear. Personally, I'd seek out proper wheels rather than use spacers. your state inspection is rather crazy over there and if they saw the spacers, you are sure to fail.

Re: Spacer size to run w/disc brak conversion.

I had to run a 1" spacer on a 66 1/2 ton with 66 stock wheels. This will leave your rear wheels narrower that takes about 1.5 " on each side to even out depending on your year.

I used 5/8" spacers on my '69 when I switched from drums to ECE discs.
