Just a Thought:I`m glad I don`t like`em

Yet another post about the ever popular`72-only tow hooks.I am so glad that the`72-only tow hooks aren`t the only hooks that came on`72 trucks.
1)They cost more than I`d pay.
2)I like the others better.
3)If the`72-onlys bent in different directions,I`d probably have then.But,they don`t and I wouldn`t want that,kinda dumb IMHO
4)I have 69-72 hooks for all three 4wds and this makes me happy.

Re: Just a Thought:I`m glad I don`t like`em

Hey Tim,
What are the differences in shape and what are they worth?
There is a green2-wheel drive 72 rusting away near my house that has tow hooks on the front but they look absolutely huge. They are really rounded and almost look aftermarket, but your post makes me wonder because I've never seen anything like 'em and didn't know there was another style.
Anybody got any pics so I can compare?

Check the parts section,jc was selling "gold bars".I`m just glad I`d rather have the cheaper ones.Cuz,if I liked the`72-onlys,I`d have about $1,500 into them.Cuz,if I like it,I gotta have it!

I agree, I wouldnt spend that kind of money for tow hooks either, I could get a hooker, A six pack and get the cheap ones first, probally even for the money maybe two hookers..

Re: Just a Thought:I`m glad I don`t like`em

bad mouthin the tow hooks are ya

when i put the 69-72 hooks on my 72 4x4 there was no way toget anything over the driverside hook because it was too close to the leaf spring

the 72 only hooks i had no problem with this

if they were cheap and repoed i would have the 67-68s or 72s hooks mounted on the front and back of every thing i own including the lawn mower

maybe even a coat rack or 2

however i perfer 2wd looong bed 67-72s so i let mine go

If there where any junkyards around here that I thought about even having any 67-72 anything I would be scouting every junkyard for miles looking for these jewels.

Re: Just a Thought:I`m glad I don`t like`em

Jc,no offense.I really am glad i prefer the others, though.Like I said,I`d have to have them and my pocket would be a hurtin`.I`ve been checking all the talk about these lately and it just crossed my mind that I actually didn`t drool as I usually do when the gotta havit impulse takes control of my mind. How long did it take me to jump on those wheels you had?I sent $325 out to OK City in`91 just to get a n.o.s. saddle steering wheel that has been laying around until I tear into the truck it goes in.In fact, you wouldn`t believe how much I have in n.o.s. and clean used parts for that truck. All gathered before the repro market caught on,before internet, too. Not to mention all the hours and miles involved.Hell,on second thought, maybe I do need those hooks....
