heads' up re Barnyard Customs
Not trying to trash-talk on vendor... I was wanting to buy some parts from the guy, but his phone number is disconnected. His web site still appears to take money, however.
Here's a forum dedicated to problems people have experienced. http://ihatebyc.forumup.org/ And on another note... any ideas on getting a reasonably priced Watts link kit? I don't need polished, tribal, whatever.

Re: heads' up re Barnyard Customs
Oops, I was looking at BYC's watts kit because of the price, glad you pointed that out.
Speedway has a set, but from the picture it doesn't look complete since there doesn't appear to be the center pivot, unless you're supposed to weld a tab on the diff cover. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/xq/asp...qx/Product.htm Ron

Re: heads' up re Barnyard Customs
It's kind of a hit and miss with BYC... I got my watts and LCA's from him before he got so behind and then bashed... I was going to get my uppers from him but I might get a Gravity Werks set. You can be safe with Mike @ BYC and get your stuff shipped COD, I told him how I was sort of worried because of his rep lately and he understood and was fine with COD. The guy has had some bad luck but hes still hanging in there. email him @ this address BuiltByBYC@aol.com thats how I get ahold of him.

Re: heads' up re Barnyard Customs
BYC... has been having alot of problems. www.fullsizechevy.com has apost where a guy still has not gotten all his parts from over 6years ago. Search fullsizechevy.com for watts link. It is a long post of bashing with BYC posting on it.

Yeah, it looks like the large tab is for attaching to the rearend. Maybe intended for a Ford 9", which has a "third member" mount from the front instead of a rear stamped steel cover. Fabbing up a nice 100% bolt-on kit wouldn't be hard at all... I just wish I had time!

Re: heads' up re Barnyard Customs
I read through some the posts & man I would be one pissed mother f'er.
Anyway... I'm glad I got the ART arms (I considered BYC because they are local). Even after having to wait several months, I @ least got what I paid for.

Re: heads' up re Barnyard Customs
I remember talking to Mike over a year ago before he put out his 63-87 A-arms and I was talking to him about them and he kept changing his story and I had arranged to get a pair from him, my friends company did some work with him before he decided he didnt want his rep to fall onto his business. Anyways Mike never seamed to give me straight answers when I asked him questions regarding his A-arms and then he gave me a price and then when it came to ordering they were $250 more then he had told me before.
To say the least I am still rolling with stock Arms Keith |

Re: heads' up re Barnyard Customs
If you ever had a one on one conversation with this guy you would scratch your head and walk away. I looked at his stuff a couple of years ago at a show. After a few minutes with him me and my buddy walked off rolling our eyes at each other. He has nice looking suspension parts, but he is definitely out there in the Barnyard....

Re: heads' up re Barnyard Customs
this is all true, but i am not talking about everyone else's problems. since he is the only one out there offering these parts and at great prices. if i can get my parts, cod or not, at a good price, then i am not the one with a problem. other people have had problems yes. but future problems have been takeb care of with cod.

1) Will my parts ever arrive? 2) Will they be the price I agreed on? 3) Will he screw with my schedule for the project? 4) Should I give up waiting and order from someone else? 5) If they arrive and I use them, what if I have problems? Any other questions? And I agree with Junkyard John -- nice attitude! Brian Last edited by bpmcgee; 03-02-2006 at 10:31 AM. |

I also don't understand the concept behind making a 'couple of extra sets' when you're so far behind on your other customers orders. Build only what you need to meet obligations & then spend $$ on building inventory for future sales. Obviously his production efficiencies aren't quite realistic vs. his sales. It also shouldn't take more than 6wks to get a refund if you paid up front. Take care of the customers you have now, or you won't have to worry about future ones.
