Tips for removing old weatherstrip adhesive?

As I prepare the truck to get painted I started to remove the door weatherstrip. It was secured by a yellowish adhesive that is a b^&*# to scrape off. Any tips on a better method?

As always, Thanks!

i used an angle grinder with a flapper disc to get it done quick. took it down to bare metal really fast, but that may not be what you want.

Heat gun will take it right down to bare metal if you want to go that far.

Re: Tips for removing old weatherstrip adhesive?

acetone will remove it, and the gloss from your paint, but will not remove your paint without some time or effort.
