What headers fit our trucks? 67-72

I have a 72 GMC 1500 2wd 350 sbc , and I have a set of rusty Mr. Gasket full length headers that fit perfectly, but I purchased a set of Flowtech Ceramic coated full length headers that are suppose to fit 67-81 trucks, but they don't fit. Which ones fit well? Part #'s too please. Thanks!!

Re: What headers fit our trucks? 67-72

I used a set of Hooker Comps, for my BBC. If you call up Summit and give them your year they can get the part #. You may want to check the location of your motor, as there are two mounting locations for the motor. If you look at the frame you will see holes around the frame part of the motor mount and location of the motor will effect the headers fitment. Where are your's hitting? I have found that out of the box headers usually need some convincing to fit properly.

Re: What headers fit our trucks? 67-72

The #1 and #2 primary tubes are hitting the motor mount bracket that comes off the frame rail. I guess that would be the motor mount tower. It is touching about 1" inside the frame rail on both sides. I cant get thefront part of the header to come down enough to get the bolts started. I put some big dents in them already on the bottoms of the #1 and #2 tubes. Will I have to pull the motor and move it forward or back?
