What would they be worth?: 1 owner '69 w/ under 20k miles and '59 w/ 60k miles.

Hi There:

I'm a car collector myself, but not a classic or truck collector. My grandfather passed away (a few years back) and left me with the following:

1) A 1959 Chevy Pickup with ~60k original miles. He owned it since new and it was his "work truck" for a heating and air conditioning business. It is light blue in color, has a white "utility bed" (the kind with panels and bins and trays that replaces the entire bed) and a logo painted on the side, but aside from that is original. It has been sitting for approximately 10-15 years so the longblock and any rubber on it is probably shot.

2) A 1969 Chevy Pickup with ~19k original miles. He owned it since new and it was slated to be his replacement "work truck" for the above truck. It too is light blue in color, has a white "utility bed" and a logo painted on the side, but aside from that is original. It has been sitting for about the same amount of time.

Currently I do not have any good pictures or solid information about the trucks, other than second hand info from what my father has told me and what I remember about them. The mileage (or even the years) could be slightly off . The trucks are located near Pheonix, Arizona.

I myself collect japanese sports cars and know if I saw a post like this I would jump all over it, and possibly not "believe it till I saw it", (don't know if original trucks like this pop up often) so I know where you're coming from.

But humoring me, could you guys please give me a rough idea of what these trucks might bring in a sale or auction? Honestly I do not know if they are worth anything at all, but I figured you guys would. If there is anybody seriously interested in puchasing and hauling them, my father is going to be traveling to the residence with a digital camera in about a month or so, and could get me pictures. The other caveat is the house/estate is going up for auction in about 45 days so I would have to move them out FAST. I am going thru old photo albums trying to find at least a picture at any angle, since I know these were "monuments" in his garage for the last decade LOL.

Any info you guys can give me, based off the little I have provided you, would be GREAT!

Thanks

I'd say $1500 each max. These have no beds on them likely long wheel base trucks with out the original beds. Sitting in the AZ heat. Translation: All the bushings are gone in the front end , motor seals gone, door and window seals gone. Translation you are buying the cab and front clip, more like the $500-800 range.

The beds are worth $500-800.I`m sure there`s no rust.New ones go for $5,500.I rustfree AZ truck is a collector`s dream.Body bushings and weatherstrips are bad in all these trucks by now, that`s easy to fix.The engine seals are designed to operate at around 180-190 degrees,so that`s not an issue in AZ anymore than everywhere else.Need more description on condition and options/factory equipment to gauge a value.
BTW,Fatman is right,read the rules.
