Question brake part - need help

I have no idea what it's called but the truck I'm putting back together is missing the part that the emergency brake cables attach to inside the rear brake drums. I have a '71 3/4 ton 2 WD with an Eaton rear.

Does anyone have a pic of these or better yet, have a pair they'd like to sell? I've been to NAPA and they told me they don't sell them. Haven't tried anywhere else yet.

Thanks,

Bob

Re: brake part - need help

Ok--are you talking about the leveraging arm that the cable end hooks on insdie the drum? There will be many pairs around.

Re: brake part - need help

That sounds like it. The cable goes into it and I think it has a pin on the other end that goes into one of the brake shoes.

Anyone have any? Or where to buy new? I need both sides so I can get this all back together.

Thanks.

Re: brake part - need help

If no one responds in a timely manner--- keep it towards the top -- ttt and later PM me. I have a pair --- but i would like to get rid of complete rear drums, rotors, brake guts and backing plates--all near new--all Texas. I would replace the rear wheel cylinders tho. All rest very good stuff.

Re: brake part - need help

Thanks guys! That is the part I need. (for both sides)

Dennis, wish I knew you had all this a short time ago. I've been searching for good used but couldn't find anything. I just bought ALL brand new! At last count, I have about $375 dollars into just the rear brake system.

Americanrider, sounds great! I'll gladly pay shipping and something for the parts too. (keeping my fingers crossed)

Re: brake part - need help

I have both of them still attached, PM your address and I'll get them in the mail.
Rather than pay me just do a favor to the next guy on here who needs a little something. What goes around comes around.

Re: brake part - need help

I marked them w/ P (pass side) and D (driver side) wrapped & dropped them into the mail today. Tommy Knotts, member "55454" started this by sending me some free knobs I needed... More good Karma coming your way Tommy

the only thing I need is a good brake bleed and a rust free cab, thanks for the offer.

Re: brake part - need help

Bob.. it's amazing how expensive the parts are for the rear ends huh? I got over 5 bills wrapped up in my brakes, and that includes 4 old drums, one old brake cylinder, and old front shoes.
be happy you have an HO52 and not a HO72.
