Presoak with detergent & water mix for a few days before starting.
Power washer. Hammer & chisel if the power washer won't cut it. If all else fails, two sticks of dynamite, one under the front of the cab, one under the center of the bed. ![]()

Use lots of elbow grease your gonna do alot of scraping after the power wash. Just did that about a month ago.

I try and scrape the big stuff off before soaking/power washing.

see if you have a co-op at your local high school, they might blast it for you.the high school in my town willblast and prime mine for $40.you get a clean frame and the kids get some practice.

I used about 10 cans of degreaser and a high-power powerwasher. Then I used a chisel for the parts that were REALLY tough.
Look on the bright side -- all that grease usually keeps the rust off of the frame! Brian |

I always use Gunk Engine Brite at the local car wash on the way home. Then I use a twisted wire cup brush on a 4 inch grinder. It will be clean shiny bare metal in short order.
Get this type, the knotted wire one. ![]() Not this type, they wear out much too fast. ![]() You can get one at any Lowes or Home Depot for just about 15 bucks. I typically get at least 6 months of hard use out of one.
