Can you guys help me wire this up?

I know most of you see an electrical thread started by me and start cussing at me, but it's not like that.

My buddy gave me a 2000 S-10 Rearview Mirror and I wanted to wire the two lights up in it. Here's the pic of the harness can you guys tell me what goes where? If it was just 2 wires my common sense would kick in, but it hasn't in this case.

I would imagine that one of the wires is the ground and the other two are the hot wire for each light. The black would usually be the ground. Check it by just hooking it (jumpers or such) to a 12v battery.

Just guessing, but probably unswitched positive, switched positive, and ground.

Actually, I think the white goes to the door switches, the orange to power, and the black to ground. This way you can turn it on with the switches by the lights, and it'll turn on with the door opening.
If you look at your dome light wires, the power is orange, and the switched ground is white. Those map lights would come on with the door on the new trucks, and then the switch would tunr them on seperatly...needing another ground... the black wire.

Re: Can you guys help me wire this up?

So since I don't need the door opening part of it. I'll only need to use two of the wires, correct? Black is ground and which other one-Orange or White to a ignition on power?

Re: Can you guys help me wire this up?

plug it in to the mirror, touch the orange on + and black on - on your
battery and if it works use then if it doesn't work try white + and black -

This way you know how it works...

Cheers

Got it guys thanks. Looks cool. My buddy even had some blue bulbs in there that match my dash lights.
