1955???? Wow!!! That thing might be worth a bit of change if someone out there wants to do an actual fifties-style hot-rod project and use nothing but period parts...I'd be tempted to sell it and put a newer one on, see what you can get for it...it sure doesn't look that old!

That thing might have been a bit of overkill on a 265 with a 30-30 duntov side stepping the clutch through a saginaw 3 speed in the 55.
Come to think of it though. I believe all edelbrock intakes have the dates of the original mold cast on them no matter what their actual casting date was. I know every torker manifold I have ever used was dated 1976 and I have used at least 6 and I know they werent all made in 1976. That chart doesnt tell you much. Only that it fits a 55- the present chevy.

aargh, the slap of reality...
![]() it lists a 400 on that chart, and i don't believe there were any 400's in 1955... no casting number anywhere though, just edelbrock and TM-1, i think i'll have to drive down to torrance (edelbrock) and see for myself...

Edelbrock Tm1 is a good hi rpm manifold.or 4speed application, its not that rare,i sell them for $50 when i have them.sometimes they get lugged to a few swapmeets first before they sell.
