Quick dumb question
Are bedsides on 67-72 trucks bolted on, bead welded or both?

They are bolted on with a spot weld by the tailgate area.

They have them on both sides of the gate at the bottom of the bed. The last one I took apart had 2 small spot welds on each side, some are harder to cut than others. They keep the back of the bed from flexing I would guess.

If it was all unbolted do you think moving it back and forth would break the weld? I got one I need to disassemble and OKLAHOMA has practically been under a fire ban since December. No torches in this grass field for doing that. there's plus 100 cars that could burn up. It will be May before I can get to it though.

Bastards!WTF is wrong with a bolt!I have the impact all geared up and ready to go.I get all the bolts out and yet there's something holding.Doesn't this seem like a cheap shot by GM?WTF would make you do something like this?There're all kinds of places to put another bolt,why torture us like this?

Using a grinder or cut off wheel will get you started but typically will hit the body of the tool in the corners before you'll get all the way through the weld. Very easy to cut with a cutoff wheel on you air powered cut off tool... May even be able to use a dremel could take you for ever that route though..
