Adjusting AC and Heater cables

I can't seem to get the cables adjusted correctly for my ac and heat controller. The bottom lever will only go about half way across the control face. The middle lever stops about an inch from the right. Does anyone have a good way to adjust these things where the levers use their full range of motion on the control face?

Is there a possibility that different year trucks had different ranges of motion. As an example, what if you put a 72 evaporator box in a 71 with a 71 controller? Or any mix and match combination.

Re: Adjusting AC and Heater cables

mine did the same thing...come to find out..someone had reconnected the cables up to the incorrect levers, on the air box etc..
try making sure the cables are connected to the correct flapper/valve first..
this is where a truck manual come's in very handy..
