Chickenwing is an "OFFICIAL" resident!
Well, I know that Chickenwing will not be able to get online much unless he uses a computer at work, so I will let you know what's going on.
GMan (George) and I helped him move into his new house last night. If you remember, he transfered from California around Christmas to "middle-o-nowhere" Mississippi. His family stayed behind while they sold their house. Well, the house sold, his wife and two girls moved over here and shacked up in an apartment while they looked for a new house. Well, he found one....and to my good fortune, he is only 4-5 miles away from me (we are in construction right now). He got himself a nice house on almost 8 acres...and get this...THE HOUSE CAME WITH TWO HORSES! (only in Mississippi) His teen-age daughter is extremely happy about that! So, we all made a convoy leaving the apartment complex and I was chosen to drive his truck....which you have to see to get the "awe" of this honor! Anyway, we moved him in last night, and got the official tour of the house. The previous owners had quite the taste for choosing room colors. He has a bright pink bedroom, a BRIGHT GREEN bedroom...and I mean the green that is on interstate signs...and an OSHA Orange bathroom. His wife is already putting him to work with a roller & bucket-o-paint SOON. We also helped him pick a location for the new shop...and his wife AGREED with us (how often does that happen?) And, as soon as he gets everything unpacked, he is planning a cookout...and the way I hear it, he is inviting EVERYBODY! He even made the offer to our fearless leader (that'd be Josh) to 'provide' his ticket to fly if he would join us. (Remember, Chickenwing works for Southwest Airlines) So, if anyone is within driving distance, Chickenwing or I will let you know when the meat is hitting the grille! Sorry, no one thought to take photos. Maybe later. EDIT- Oh, I almost forgot....how ironic is it that his board name is Chickenwing....and the most popular local income of "Puckett, MS" is raising chickens for Tyson Foods.

Re: Chickenwing is an "OFFICIAL" resident!
We had a quick DNA swab, one of those vacu-tubes full of blood, a $500 deposit, and I had to stay within 100 feet of the U-Haul truck so he could see me....and we never got over 52 mph!!!!!

Re: Chickenwing is an "OFFICIAL" resident!
Your gain our loss. Chickenwing or Rich in the ROW moved from Rio Linda, CA where that community used to known for raising chickens. Rio Linda became famous when Rush Limbaugh (lived and worked in Sacramento) used to pick on them for being a country folk. Strange Rich would find an alike community some 3000 miles away.
I am glad to see the MS Boys have welcomed Rich with open arms and hopefully cases of beer. Rich is the kind of person that will do anything for you and does not expect anything in return. A VERY GOOD PERSON with a great family. Tim ------------------------------------------------------------------ When do you plan on doin' the grilling? I might try and find some airline tickets and fly out for the weekend. I have some United coupons. What is the closest airport? So, if anyone is within driving distance, Chickenwing or I will let you know when the meat is hitting the grille! EDIT- Oh, I almost forgot....how ironic is it that his board name is Chickenwing....and the most popular local income of "Puckett, MS" is raising chickens for Tyson Foods.[/QUOTE]

Re: Chickenwing is an "OFFICIAL" resident!
I talked to Rich today on the phone (his wife had him in the furniture store $$) and I fessed up about inviting everyone over to his house.
He advised that he will indeed have a cookout and will set a hard date in the next week or so, but will give members plenty of notice so you can arrange your schedules. Man, what a guy!

Re: Chickenwing is an "OFFICIAL" resident!
Hi guys! ..er, should I say y'all now? It has been fun the last week. G-Man and Putter pulled me out of the fire and helped me move. Well, George did. Eric mainly supervised. Would have been ok if he would have brought over his posse. Just kiddin Eric!
It was very busy. The John Deer Green room was painted the 3rd night. Still livin with the international orange bathroom and the t, er pink bedroom. My family came up from Pascagoula on the 5th night. I've set a date for my wing-ding: First weekend of May. The 6th-7th. Cookin will be served Saturday evening. Say 6ish. If you are here early, lunch is at noon. Anyone and everyone is welcome. If ya have a bit of a drive you are welcome to stay the night. I have 2 extra bedrooms for those without campin gear. For those with campin gear, I have a large flat area adequate for a lot of tents. Dinner will be burgers and hotdogs and of course WINGS! Will serve the usual sodas and beer too. Family occasion. I say that again. Family occasion. Kids are not only welcome but encouraged to come. Activities will include: Trucks (make sure you bring em if ya can) swimmin, horse shoes and trap shootin. (no rifle or pistol allowed) If you do wish to shoot the rules will be spelled out in detail and will be supervised by me or my designee. Questions? PM me or give me a call. 601-591-0318. Love to meet ya. Rich |

Hey, what's that phone number go to? Does that mean I can stop dialing a California number?
Mark me down. I will bring wife and 5 yr old. Hopefully Nana will keep the toddler! I also told Gus (Delta Airlines). He might show up...in his F-truck.

Re: Chickenwing is an "OFFICIAL" resident!
It's gotta be culture shock to move from Sacramento, to Mississippi, huh? Been to both, and spent 10 years down in Biloxi, one summer...okay for about 10 months (May67-March68). My youngest son is USAF and stationed at Travis AFB, between Sacramento and SF. Sure would like for him to be able to move back here.
Since one of my sister's lives in northern Mississippi, it's a fairly short putt to get to The Magnolia State. Seems that Putter said he's got connections in southern Arkansas, so a drive down y'alls way is certainly possible. Don't know if I can make it for the Wingding, but anything can happen, right? Sounds like a lot of fun. Rock on!

Re: Chickenwing is an "OFFICIAL" resident!
He ought to be ashamed and would be if I hadn't left my camera at work. He was turning the truck around when I saw the F word. I ran to my truck a few feet away and the camera wasn't there! Dangit I left it at work. He was real lucky.
