Smile 402 BB edelbrock carb. bracket ,linkage?

I've put a 1406 edelbrock carb. and intake performer series on my 402 BB. Do any of you have the same set up? Do I use the origional accelerator cable and bracket? I noticed ,If I put the accelerator grommet on cable(round part) into the bracket it causes a little bend in the cable between the bracket and the firewall. Is this normal or can I adjust the cable to take the bend out? Thank you all for your help. Dave

The cable is flexable, as long as it doesn't bind you are OK. There are high dollar set up out there where you can get the throttle cable shorter, with return spring brackets, etc. Good luck.

You are good to go with that, did exact same swap on mine and it worked fine. Its now got a 454 with a 1407 carb and works just the same,no problems.::::::::::::::::CB

Bend the bracket that holds the grommet back toward the cab and you'll get a better angle on your cable. I know because a buddy just installed 1 on his truck.

hope ya have better luck than i am. mine must be chaffing the inside of the cable and it hangs up at idle. have to tap the pedal to get it down from high idle coming to a stop. need to replace the cable but 35$+ is stupid for a little cable.

Is there a way to adjust the cable to take up the slack from the firewall to the bracket to make the cable straight and not have a bend from the firewall to the bracket? Thanks everyone.

Can someone with this same setup on their 402BB with the edelbrock performer series intake and carb. with the stock accelorator bracket, please post a pic, so I can see how it relates to my setup and see how much slack there is in their cable? Thank you.

isn't there an adjustment method you use with pushing your accelerator pedal all the way to the floor and then pullin on the cable and connecting it. Then once you have done that it will be super tight and shouldn't bind on you
