a body shop removed my vin plates and lost them is there any way to get originals remade? i already have the state police coming out to make me a new one but if i can get originals that would be best because then i dont have to bother with the police.

Re: vin plate

Sounds like a shady body shop. I wouldn't mind having the police involved if it were my truck.

Re: vin plate

i have tried to make the body shop take care of it but because my truck was being done on the side there is no paperwork that the truck was ever truly there. yea i know really dumb move on my part but do you really think that i should have the police investigate this further because the owner of the body shop is my friend and it was one of his employees that took it off and he is trying to scam the blame onto another guy who worked on it.

Re: vin plate

As far as the body shop and your friend it could very easily be put back on the books, but what a pain in the arse to loose a stinkin vin plate. Just FYI do you know where to look on the truck for the partial vin?
One location is going to be the driver side frame rail right about wher ethe power steering pump mounts, it will be on the top of the frame rail. This will only be a partial vin, also if you still have the original engine you could also use this aswell
