I know this has probably been asked dozens of time before, but I'll ask again. Is there any companys left that make the 16.5x8.25 aluminum slot wheels? I read somewhere that Surperior wheel or something like that makes them. But I can't find surperior wheels online. I looked up Ansen sprints and they only have them for 6-luggers tops (unless I missed something) Any help would be appreciated.

Not that I know of. I looked for a while but got a good deal on some Mickey t's with yokohama tires.
Used would probably about it.
Stockton wheels build a inexpensive steel wheel in what ever size and back spacing you want.

I guess he has never priced virgin 16.5 rubber...........I still have 16.5's on my 1-ton for acouple reasons, I don't use it much, the small increase in size helps keep the rpms down, and because I don't use it much I don't have to buy rubber for it every few years.

I run caps on the rear, so I only ever buy two steers, rotate the old steers to the rear after they are capped. I need two steers now, and I was quoted something like $140/piece for 16.5's. Guy I know works on bread trucks and they still have a few running 16.5's yet, he's going to try to get me some decent take offs to run, which would last me a long time.............I doubt it I drive it 2000 miles in a year.

Jake ; When I was looking this outfit had some ,it looks like they have even less choices now , I decided it was best to go with 16's ( more choices and tires are reasonable and available )

Crap, I forgot to mention the main question of the post. It was whether ALUMINUM SLOT WHEELS were still being made, not just aluminum wheels in general. Sorry for the mix up.
You can get 33x12.50x16.5 Dunlop Mud Rovers at Sam's club for $135 apiece, same price as 285/75/16's. I didn't think that was a bad price.

There is a set of aluminum slots nearby on a built up 80's Chevy, but I can already hear the BS about how they came on the truck and how they couldn't sell them because they had nothing to put on the truck for wheels, and blah blah blah. But it doesn't cost much to ask a question.

Army Truck, you can probably get less aggressive tires for 16.5's cheaper than $135 if you don't want all the tread, or if you only have a 2WD. Mud Rover's have pretty deep lugs and a D load range, so you can probably get some A/T tires or something cheaper.

American Racing Equipment is reproducing the Ansen Spirit style wheel. I do not know about a 16.5 wheel, however.

I just don't want to fork over 900-1000 bucks for wheels and tires. That's kinda of outta my price range. I'm a poor kid.
