Help,Gas guage

I'm restoring my truck and I have my dash bezel out with all of the guages,I noticed the gas guage needle is reading just under a half of a tank. Is this normal or is the gas guage bad? I never had a problem with it when it was in the truck and driving it.

Re: Help,Gas guage

if you had just under a 1/2 tank, then it's all good.

While each truck works a little differant from the next one, the generally do not return to zero when you kill the power.
I had one that would fall down to the 9 O'clock, or the 3 O'clock...depending on if it had more than a 1/2 tank, or less than a 1/2 tank. Always returned to acurate once the key was turned. CHEVYE has got that one now...or his buddy does.
