Is there away to take out the 02 sensor and trick the motor
Wanting to instal a new set of headers is there away to trick the putter into thinking there is a 02 sensor in the pipe? Emissions are not a factor for me

You should really just keep the O2 sensor installed if at all possible. If the headers don't have a bung for the sensor, you can get one drilled and welded in.
Is this a TBI setup your truck has? If so you would lose fuel economy, and most likely some performance too. Without the O2 sensor your PCM would operate in "open loop" mode meaning that it would use calculated values to determine how much fuel to use. I would definately keep it if possibe. -Jeremy

Ya i can weld a bung in there but I was woundering if there was a way to trick the putter into thinking it was still there

Joseph, if you get rid of your 02 sensor, you had midaswell pull the whole TBI setup off and sell it right away
The 02 sensor is such a majorly critical component, that you'd midaswells be taking the fuel injectors out, lol! While the TBI does put a crimp on your ability to install headers, it doesn't mean that all is lost. You can install a set of longtube headers, and as mentioned before, have an 02 sensor nut installed in the collector. But, since the exhaust has cooled greatly by the time it reaches the collector, you will need to buy a heated 02 sensor. Or you can install a set of Chevelle, Nova, or other similar type car 3/4 length headers. They exit in a position similar to the old maniolds and allow you to tuck the exhaust pipes up close to the frame rail so you won't be scraping your collectors all over the place if you drive a lowered rig. The 3/4 length's collectors are close enough to the engine that you are usually just fine with a standard 02 sensor. Edelbrock makes a set of 3rd Gen Camaros called TSE or something similar emmissions complaint headers, and they have nothing but great praise from the 3rd Gen guys. The final thing to consider is that your ECM (engine computer) is programmed for how your engine is built right now. By adding headers, and duals you increase the engine's ability to flow, and also possibly remove it from the ECM's ability to compensate. If you experience a loss of milage, power, or driveability, you'll probally want to get it dyno tuned. If you are after horsepower, you should consider doing so regardless, as there is a reasonable amount of horsepower and torque (20 hp / 40 ft/lbs) that can be picked up without changing anything else but the chip.

check out this guys site

Brian is very good at what he does, he can get your truck to run fairly well considering he has never seen it before. However, you still will be sacraficing tons of power by not getting it dyno tuned, or tuning it yourself
