Found a 70 GMC 1/2 ton burb.
through my normal travels I have found a 70 GMC burb that has been sitting for the past 6 years, Has been lowered, disc up front too.
Is 350/350 combo, with front and rear air. body looks to be decent from pics but has been in a fender bender up front Drivers fender and possible door. Goin tomorrow to get a closer look, hook up a battery and see if she will turn over, 5-6 year since last time on road and 2-3 since last run. Asking price is 2000.00 Sounds pretty fair thinking about offering more like 12-1300 instead. Any places besides rockers i neeed to look out for for rust and problems? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, thomas

Re: Found a 70 GMC 1/2 ton burb.
Rear 1/4s and around rear opening.Ending up at $1,200-1,300 is cool, but a far drop from $2,000.I don`t know how you plan to approach it,but I`d start off asking if he would take any less, after looking it over.Unless he drops it quite a bit,I`d try for $1,500.Good luck.

Re: Found a 70 GMC 1/2 ton burb.
I don't know I always try and low ball at first, especially if I have the money in my pocket and am not just talkin to talk. sounds like a pretty good buy for the money. Good Luck, remember low ball, wait for his counter offer then give another counter offer below his, then he'll bite if he's itchin to sell it, if not then up your offer.
I love hagling on price

Re: Found a 70 GMC 1/2 ton burb.
from all the bubbles in the paint it looks like all along the bottom of the body is rusted. I would agree with special-k offer $1500.00 less if possible.

Re: Found a 70 GMC 1/2 ton burb.
Well I guess I forgot to update the information,
I purchased and picked up the sub two weekends ago. Rightnow she is sitting on my flatbed trailer where I store it. Waiting for me to decide how to tell the wife I have another project to bring and keep at the house. I have many more photos but need to upload them to a storage site. Hopefully that will take place tomorrow. Lets just say that the guy knew what he had, knew what he had done to the suspension, and knew the value of the truck. In other words I did not get to offer my 1200 and he did not accecpt 1500.00. We worked it out and my friend found someoen to paint his harley too. Yes, there is Rust, and YES there are Missing Parts, and YES it is going to be hard to explain to the wife. The most unfortunate part is that I will most likely have to sell one or more of my C10 Trucks to finance the parts search and eventual paint and interior work. As soon as I can I'll post more Thanks for all the information. OH, I also have a lead on a rust free sub in NM. No drivetrane or interior though. Thomas

Congrats on getting it. Looks like it's going to be as much fun as mine will be. Actually looks a little farther then mine.
