72 custom20 deluxe

Like I needed another truck! This truck had a full size camper on it and has 74,000 orginal miles on it. The owner had it in a garage for 7 years and when he tried to start it the rings on the 402 were gone. He then replaced it with a hi perf 454! The 454 has 5,000 miles on it. The cab inside is like new and everything works. Here are some pics

Nice ride. I have a custom delux also. I just picked up a front clip for it. Now I know what the holes in the cowl are from. Thanks

I'm going to be taking the duel wheels off and was thinking of a set like these if they will fit?

Re: 72 custom20 deluxe

Just noticing something... that was not originally a dualie truck. I think those are ford wheels in back too. Notice it has normal flat wheels in front and not the same style as in back.
What's the truck model? (listed on glove box as first option)

Re: 72 custom20 deluxe

I wonder if it was converted to a frame-mount camper when new or later on.It would have started as a pickup. The rear is swapped-in,probably when the camper was mounted. It`s a cab`n`chassis rear.

Re: 72 custom20 deluxe

Yeah, either the dealer or an upfitter through the dealer. You can buy a truck, then handle your own upfits.Or,a savy dealer can handle it themselves and sell the package.Like the conversion vans or trucks with snow plows, dump beds, utility beds, etc.that you see on a new lot.

Re: 72 custom20 deluxe

You can even see the bed mounts that wouldn't be there on a cab/chassis truck.

Re: 72 custom20 deluxe

Not trying to rob the post, but does anyone have a mirror arm like the ones on this truck that they want to get rid of. I talking about the arm that goes from the tripod to the mirror.
