70's stepside, Tailgate?
Hey ya'll,
ive been offered a 70 something stepside, supposedly rust free, w/a rod knock for $300. the main thing wrong w/it is the tailgate... How hard is it to find a tailgate for one of these old stepsides? i would imagine it'd be pretty hard. but anyhow i'm going to look at it either this sunday or next, so i'll post some pics and get some opinions then. thanks |

Re: 70's stepside, Tailgate?
If it's a Chevy the tailgates are fairly easy to find, a GMC might be tough. Any tailgate from 55-87 will work. I don't think the stamped lettering is the same for all those years, but the gates will all interchange.
