Fuel Gauge Problem

My 72C10 fuel gauge is buried up past full. I ran new ground wire to tank and new sending unit. There is power at sending unit.If I reset gauge to empty by using terminals on back as soon as I turn key on up it goes never to come back.I have 3 other old dash clusters and all of them have the same condition when plugged into my harness can anyone help? I have a 67-72 factory assy manual but my dash harness is not wired as manual but I have no reason to believe it has ever been altered Thanks Don

Re: Fuel Gauge Problem

Welcome to the board form TX. Just a guess... How's the printed circuit look on the back of the gauge panel? My 71 never showed past half full when full but empty was empty... I put a new printed circuit on and the gauge works perfectly! Just my .02

Re: Fuel Gauge Problem

past full = open circuit/ infinite resistance. You need to check between the fuse block and the cluster harness to see if you are getting a good connection from the fuel gauge sending unit. Welcome to the board from KY!!! Randy
