What I got done today

Well, my water neck has been leaking for quite some time and my temp gauge hasn't worked since I got the truck so I finally broke down and figured I'd fix them both. I've had a new chrome Mr. Gasket water neck for about 2 months now and the laziness in me finally subsided in a fit of boredom today. I figured I'd flush the coolant system while I was at it so after a quick run to the parts store in my daily I was back at the house and into my day's project. I drained the radiator in the garage (kept the mess to a minimum thanks to a 6 gal. drain pan) and then unbolted the water neck and sending unit. Replaced with the new stuff and pushed the truck back out of the garage and into the driveway to flush the system out. It was pretty grimy for a little bit, then turned a little milky. I wasn't expecting that. But then it cleared right up and was ready to be closed back up and filled with fresh fluid. While I was running it with the water on I noticed my temp gauge was working Sweet! Filled it back up with fluid/water and ran it, then topped off and I was done. Took a lot less time than I thought. Tomorrow it's a fresh oil change and then I get to order all my goodies so I can get the sucker bagged!!!

Re: What I got done today

Well I went out and stared at my truck today threatening to do something. Out of the five fixes on my list I did the smallest. headlight switch. Because I thought it had a short changed the switch still have the short......You did better than I did.
