painting a tilt
what is the best paint and the correct color for a tilt column?

I was under the impression they were always black. Anyone else know for sure? Mine is black, but I got it after the fact from Brother's.

mine is dark olive, just like the rest of my interior. it's original. don't know what determines whether they are painted body color or not, but mine is.

All the tilts I have seen are black. But my non-tilt from the factory was dark green to match the dash pad, seat, etc....

i guess i should have read the question more carefully...mine is currently non-tilt, body color. the tilt i have yet to put in is black. i think body color looks better, though.

would the original steering wheel have been black in that case, or still cab color? seems like it could look funny, for instance, with my green wheel on a black column...
